Alice is an experienced Family Law attorney and was certified by the Supreme Court of Florida as a Family Court Mediator. She received an “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest professional level attainable based on her years of experience in Family Law and the endorsement by her colleagues in the areas of professional conduct, ethics and ability. She is licensed as an attorney in Florida and Colorado, and has been admitted as a member of the Bar of the U.S. Supreme Court. She is a past member of the International Alliance of Holistic Lawyers

    Hired by Janet Reno, Alice served two years as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County, Florida. She then opened her own law office to specialize in family law. Alice was a gubernatorial appointee to the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Third District Court of Appeal of Florida from1995-2000. The prestigious nine-member Commission investigates and interviews judicial candidates for appointment to the Appellate Bench for Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties. She also served as a Miami-Dade County Civil Traffic Infraction Hearing Officer from January 1996 through March 1999.

    She is a graduate of Barry University (B.S. 1983) and the University of Miami School of Law (J.D. 1986), and served as an Adjunct Professor at Florida International University in the Paralegal Studies program.  Prior to entering law school at the age of 33, Alice spent 6 years as a legal secretary and Certified Legal Assistant.

    Alice now considers herself to be a “recovering divorce lawyer”. After 10 years of handling only divorce and child custody cases, she closed a successful law practice in 1999 to follow her dream.  She found it more rewarding to work with people and assist them in solving their own problems, thus enabling them to regain control and power over their own lives, without placing blame on anyone. Holistic law looks at the totality of the picture and the consequences of actions, and is a focus of what Alice speaks about in her lectures to groups about relationships and how to handle family cases in a positive fashion.
