The following is an excerpt from the book called...
- Instant Recognition -This is the part of the story where my life does a 180° turnaround. As I walked into the meeting room I was floating. With the events of the day very much in my mind, I scanned the room. In the front of the room I saw two people seated on the floor. They were sitting on and leaning back against cushions that had been removed from the chairs and placed against a coffee table. From their positioning, all I could see of the two people seated there were the backs of their heads.
The person with dark hair, I didn’t even notice, but the person with the red hair affected me in a way that is hard to explain. I didn’t even know if these people were male or female.
As I looked at the back of the red-haired person’s head, a feeling came over me. It was a feeling of recognition, of knowing, of having found something that I had been searching for all of my life. It was as if someone had hit me in the face with a sledgehammer filled with molten love. Soft and flowing, encircling my soul and me like a million tiny butterflies fluttering their wings and giving me tingles that went from the top of my head to the tips of my toes. I know now as I write this story, that it was what can only be described as "love at first sight". Literally, it was like falling into a big billowy cloud made of cotton or soft feathers. A wonderful feeling of having just had an experience that could never be equaled. It’s what I have come to call a peak experience.
As Neale was introducing me to the group, the two people in front turned around and I then saw that they were both women. I recognized the woman with dark hair as CarolAnne, Neale’s personal masseuse, but I didn’t know the red-haired woman at all. There was something here and I instantly felt that this woman was having the same feelings as I, that we were connected and our souls had recognized each other. A bond had been remembered.

The following is the excerpt called "The Kiss"
When we left, the air had a thickness you could cut with a knife.
The emotions that were overcoming us were intense. Up until that point, other than the
trip over, we had been surrounded by people and that took away from the energy flow.
However, when we left that all changed. We were alone. No one to interrupt the moment for
at least an hour on the trip to D.C.
It was like being a teenager again. Like the first time I had ever been with a girl on a date. The feeling of slowly putting my arm around her shoulders. Making sure never to touch her, until the hand was all the way around on the other side. The tension you feel. The incredible overwhelming excitement of not knowing whether she wants your arm there or not, but at the same time "knowing" deep inside, that this is right. That was the feeling of that moment.
As we drove away I said, "Alice, I am having these feelings I MUST talk about. Could you drop that wall you have had up all week?"
She replied, "It's been gone since your hand touched my leg!"
That is when it escalated to a fever pitch. I reached out and touched her hand and my pulse raced. My heart was in my throat, my palms started sweating and I knew this was something very special. I said to her, "This connection is so incredibly strong, and the feelings I am having are so intense, I don’t quite know what to do about them!" But I really did. I began looking for a place to pull off. I couldn’t drive another foot. I had to stop, get off the road. I HAD TO KISS HER! I was being driven to touch my lips to hers. As we approached the onramp to the freeway, there was an open area alongside the road. I pulled off. Pulse racing, palms sweating, heart pounding in my throat, totally excited, I turned to her.
As my gaze met her beautiful blue eyes she said, "You read my mind!"
This is what the culmination of the search came to. When we kissed it was the single most powerful moment in my life. The world didn’t exist! There was no freeway, no onramp, no city, no cars, no world. There was nothing but the sounds of our breathing. The feel of our lips together and our arms around each other. The smell of her and the sweet taste of our love intermingling. I was knocked off my feet! I was, in that instant, totally and unequivocally in love with this woman I had practically just met. I just knew that she was "the one". After we kissed a few more times, and caught our breath, we drove on toward Washington D.C. This would turn out to be one of the most significant rides in our lives.
This was just a taste of the book. Look for it in the stores in late spring early summer of 1999.
